Asia Pacific
ProVeg Asia Pacific promotes plant-based diets not just at an individual level but as part of a broader transformation of food systems. Across the region, we collaborate with businesses, institutions, and the public to make plant-based choices more accessible and impactful.

Public Engagement
ProVeg Asia Pacific actively participates in key industry events and food forums across the region, ensuring that plant-based food solutions remain central to discussions on sustainability and health. If you would like us to speak at one of your conferences or events, please contact us.

Movement Building
ProVeg provides grants to support impactful projects across the Asia Pacific region, including in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, and Fiji. Our grantees work on a range of initiatives, such as the Taiwan Vegetarian Nutrition Society, which focuses on university catering; Meat-Free Monday Korea, which promotes plant-based meals in schools; and the Singapore-based Centre for a Responsible Future, which offers online learning modules on plant-based living. Corporate & Institutional Engagement
The food sector plays a vital role in accelerating the transition to plant-based diets. ProVeg Asia Pacific works with both emerging and established businesses, as well as investors, to facilitate this shift.
One of our key initiatives, New Food Invest, serves as a platform connecting start-ups with industry leaders and potential investors. In 2023, the New Food Invest conference attracted over 200 participants, representing $54 million in available investment capital.
We also support emerging food start-ups through ProVeg’s Incubator programme, which has helped launch plant-based and cultivated-food companies across China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, New Zealand, and Australia. Notable alumni include Haofood, Umami United, Heuros, and ProMeat.
Food Innovation Challenge
A key initiative in our work is the ProVeg Plant-Based Food Innovation Challenge, which invites university students to develop plant-based food solutions using indigenous Asian ingredients. Launched in China in 2020, the Challenge has since expanded to 16 Asia-Pacific countries, fostering collaboration with food companies and empowering students to shape the future of sustainable food.

By providing industry exposure and mentorship, the Challenge enables participants to work with leading food brands, developing innovative and sustainable food concepts. Many successful ideas from past editions have secured investment and commercialisation support, strengthening the region’s plant-based food ecosystem.
The initiative also engages corporate partners and industry experts, fostering collaboration between students and businesses to drive meaningful change in the sector.
