On October 30, at the Second Meeting of the First Committee of the NeoProtein Professional Committee of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology, Nicole Wu, Executive Director of ProVeg International, was elected as an additional member of the Committee.
Four new members were added to the Committee at this meeting, further strengthening the Committee’s expert structure. The NeoProtein Professional Committee brings together leading experts from industry associations, research institutes, leading companies, and top universities, and is committed to advancing research in the NeoProtein field, fostering collaboration among industry, academia, and research, and supporting policy advocacy efforts.

From an interdisciplinary perspective, the NeoProtein Professional Committee explores pathways for developing NeoProtein resources from plant-, animal-, and microbe-based sources. It also examines emerging trends in future food technologies, contributing to the broader national framework promoting a diversified and resilient food supply system in China.

ProVeg values its collaboration with the Institute and the Committee and looks forward to continued cooperation. Moving ahead, ProVeg will remain committed to advancing plant-based and sustainable diets, strengthening academic exchange and industry collaboration in the NeoProtein field, and contributing to the development of a more sustainable and resilient food system.
