Plant-based cheese on the rise in Poland

Over the last couple of months, ProVeg has been working with Łowicz, one of the three biggest dairy companies in Poland. What might seem like a strange pairing at first glance, has turned out to be a very successful collaboration! ProVeg used its expertise in plant-based products to help Łowicz launch a range of delicious vegan cheeses that were first introduced to the market in mid-May.

ProVeg facilitates plant-based innovation

One of ProVeg’s main approaches to moving towards a more plant-based world is to focus on corporate engagement. Working with food producers, retailers, and caterers in order to develop more plant-based products for consumers and to make them more accessible for everyone is a very effective way of spreading the plant-based message and, consequently, helping us to achieve our mission. As such, ProVeg targets big players like Łowicz.

More plant-based variety in Polish supermarkets

Łowicz consulted with ProVeg from the very beginning with regards to the taste and ingredients of their new plant-based range, and we also helped with the marketing strategy for their launch. The finished products can already be found on the shelves of big supermarket chains all over Poland. Carrefour, Auchan, and Kaufland already stock them, with more supermarkets likely to follow suit. And the best part about this new plant-based cheese line is that they don’t cost a fortune. In fact, the vegan cheese slices cost the same price as their dairy counterparts.

Łowicz is the first Polish company to launch plant-based cheese slices. And, of course, all of the new products are certified with the V-label. However, ProVeg isn’t stopping there. We are currently also working on making these mouth-watering plant-based cheeses available to hotels, restaurants, and caterers. The feedback from the Polish ProVeg community has been overwhelmingly positive and supportive, showing us just how ready Poland is for vegan cheese.
