ProVeg seeks creative minds to change the food system with Kickstarting For Good Incubator

Applications for the latest Kickstarting For Good’s incubation program close on 30 April

Bright ideas to bring about food system change are being sought by ProVeg International, which today opens up its “Kickstarting For Good” incubation program to applications.

The program, which is specifically aimed at nonprofit organizations and impact initiatives, will be open for applications until April 30

“Kickstarting For Good is a very exciting program aimed at bringing about positive change to the food system and we hope this latest call for applications will inspire many people to come forward with their ideas,” Sebastian Joy, Founding President of ProVeg International, said.

“We’re looking for promising and talented individuals who have the potential to become real changemakers and disruptors but perhaps do not have the training, know-how, or connections to realize them,” Joy said.

“The Kickstarting For Good program will provide an abundance of resources, guidance, and support to realize their visions and there will be opportunities for one-to-one sessions in Berlin as well,” Joy added.

The program will show participants the skills, theory and mindset needed to create a high-impact initiative, guided by high-calibre mentors and program advisors, culminating in a final pitch day at the ProVeg International headquarters in Berlin.

Kickstarting For Good is a fully-funded program, meaning there is no cost to participants and travel and accommodation costs will be covered for the in-person weeks in Berlin.

On the pitch day, our jury of experts and writers will award prizes of $50,000, $40,000, $30,000, $20,000 and $10,000 to the best teams, with each graduating initiative being awarded a minimum of $5000 in seed funding.

How the application process works

Applications for the third cohort opened on 5 March. Candidates must complete the application form on the Kickstarting For Good website to be considered.

Successful initiatives kickstarted by the team behind Kickstarting For Good include the Animal and Vegan Advocacy (AVA) summit, Vegan Business Circle International, and Farm Adaptation Network.

AVA Summit. Since our founder kickstarted the first Animal & Vegan Advocacy (AVA) Summit in 2022, the event grew under Julia Reinelt’s leadership into an independent nonprofit and global event series with four major events on four continents in the next twelve months, aiming to attract around 2.000 visitors from 70 countries.

Vegan Business Circle International. Founded on a city-level in Budapest, Vegan Business Circle brings together plant-based manufacturers, venues and services to build a strong regional plant-based network. Through the incubator, the organization is now expanding internationally and successfully raised funding to launch the network into five more European cities under their international division.

Farm Adaptation Network. Three members of our 2024 cohort joined together to create the Farm Adaptation Network, engaging and supporting farmers to transition away from animal-based agriculture. Through the program, they successfully raised over $100,000 seed funding to launch the initiative.
