Grab a takeaway from a plant-based restaurant near you

In a population that still largely believes that vegetables do not taste good, we are relying on plant-based restaurants to show us, our families and friends that plant-based food can be prepared in a tasty and oftentimes, mind-blowing delicious way! Find our lists of plant-based restaurants to support during lockdown.

During March 2020, the hospitality industry was asked to closed their doors completely for two weeks during level 5 national lockdown. This was followed by alert level 4, which allowed them to open their doors for takeaways only. While we understand the importance of these restrictions in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus, these decisions have placed immense stress on the hospitality industry, and vegan restaurants are extra vulnerable to this pressure.  In support of our favourite spots with plant-based offerings, we started off by putting together a list of restaurants in South Africa and encouraged all to continue supporting their local plant-based eateries. With amazing feedback from our digital community and the help of our volunteers in Durban and Johannesburg, we were able to expand this list into over 100 hundred options across the country! There are many restaurants and coffee shops that offer plant-based takeaways in South Africa that need our support… follow the links to our posts below and see our feed to find out which of these awesome vegan-friendly restaurants and coffee are close to you.
