Lepat Pisang

Lepat means to fold and pisang is banana, hence lepat pisang, which essentially means to fold the banana. Think of this as a steamed banana snack, perfectly sweet!

Ingredients

  • 7 pcs
    ripe or overripened bananas
  • ½ cup
    flour
  • 2 tbsp
    coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 pc
    banana leaves cut into ~6cm x 5cm pieces
  • ¼ cup
    shredded coconut optional
  • ½ tsp
    salt optional

Instructions

  1. Smash together the bananas, then mix in flour, sugar and salt.
  2. You can make a filling of a mix of shredded coconut and salt, but you can opt to skip this.
  3. Add a spoonful of the banana mix onto the banana leaf and the coconut mixture (optional).
  4. Fold over the fillings upwards towards the end of the wrapper, then fold both ends.
  5. Steam for 18-20 minutes. Let cool and serve!
