FAQ FOR PROVEG’S VOLUNTEER NETWORK
Is the ProVeg Volunteer Network for me?
–Skills-based volunteering is a good way to use your time, skills, and talents meaningfully and effectively. At the same time, it requires a greater degree of commitment and responsibility than other types of volunteering. If you would like to work together with a motivated team and gain insights into the work of an NGO, then Skilled Volunteering is for you.
When will you inform me about a suitable position?
+The answer to this depends on your skill set. At ProVeg, we undertake a range of projects and campaigns and our needs are often changing. However, in other areas, there are opportunities to get involved on a regular basis – for example, as a photographer.
What happens after I get contacted?
+As soon as we need someone with your specific skills and expertise, we will contact you – without any obligation. If you are still available, we will pass on your details to the relevant department to see if it is a good fit. Thereafter, we might ask to see samples of your work (e.g. for design tasks) or schedule a call in order to determine whether the task at hand meets both your expectations and that of the department concerned. If everyone is satisfied, you will need to sign the volunteer and data-protection agreements. After that, you’ll be ready to start working on the agreed task or project.
Can I get a certificate for my volunteer work?
+We will gladly provide you with a volunteer certificate – just make the request via [email protected].
What is the scope of a volunteer position?
+While we try to adjust to your availability, this depends on the specific project or tasks that you’ll be working on. In our experience, volunteers support us for 1-5 hours a week, on average. Some projects will consist of single tasks that can be quickly completed while other projects will be more complex and take place over a longer period of time. You will find all the relevant details in the description of the position.
What if I want to end my support?
+In general, it’s important that we can rely on you to complete a task or project that you committed to. At the same time, given the voluntary basis of your support (which we greatly appreciate), we will understand if you are no longer able to provide support for any reason. If something important comes up or the position doesn’t meet your expectations, it’s important that you inform your contact person timeously.
How can I change or complete the data I entered?
