Bami & Fried Tofu Wok

An easy and classic Indonesian cuisine. Make sure the Mien noodles don’t contain eggs (check the ingredients list).

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 5 cups
    Mien noodles
  • 2 tbsp
    oil
  • 1
    onion
  • 2 cloves
    garlic
  • 6 ⅓ oz
    fried tofu
  • 1 tsp
    sambal oelek
  • 1 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 tsp
    dried cilantro
  • 3 ⅓ cup
    wok vegetable mix frozen
  • 2 tbsp
    sweet soy sauce (ketjap manis)
  • fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mien noodles according to the instructions on the packaging
  2. While that is cooking, finely dice the onions
  3. Heat up a tbsp of oil in a wok pan and fry the diced onions for about 5 minutes. Press the garlic over onions and fry for another minute.

  4. Add the fried tofu to the pan and fry these for about 10 minutes until they are a bit crunchy.
  5. Heat up another tablespoon of oil in the wok pan. Add the wok vegetable mix, sambal, cumin, and cilantro and cook them for about 10 minutes.

  6. Add the mien noodles and sweet soy sauce (ketjap) to the wok and stir-fry everything for another couple minutes

  7. Done! Garnish with cilantro.

Notes

Tip#1: Add baked onions and/or seroendeng for a burst of flavour!

Tip#2: You can also add vegan satay sauce for some extra savoury (or spicy) goodness!
