Vegan ‘Nutella’

This Vegan 'Nutella' is a creamy, homemade spread that combines roasted hazelnuts with rich cacao powder and melted cocoa butter for a smooth, indulgent treat. Naturally sweetened and with a hint of salt, it’s a healthier, plant-based alternative to the classic, perfect for spreading on toast or adding to your favorite desserts!

  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Servings: 1
  • 1 cup
    raw hazelnuts
  • cup
    melted cocoa butter
  • 1 tbsp
    cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp
liquid sweetener of choice or less if prefer
  • 1 pinch
    salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180c. Roast hazelnut for 10 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool down completely.
  2. In a food processor, blend the hazelnut for 2-3 minutes until hazelnut butter is formed. The consistency should be smooth and runny.
  3. In a bowl, combine melted cocoa butter, cacao powder, liquid sweetener and salt. Pour into the food processor and blend to combine with hazelnut butter.
  4. Transfer the “nutella” to a clean jar and keep in refrigerator

Notes

Depending on the size of your food processor, use at least 1 cup of hazelnut or else it could be difficult for the processor to blend smoothly.

If you couldn’t find cocoa butter and cacao powder, you can melt ¼ cup vegan chocolate chips/bar and add it into the hazelnut butter.
