Public Outreach

The ProVeg Nigeria team takes tasty plant-based food samples to where the people are—in markets, streets, schools, and hospitals. Additionally, we have the ProVeg Veggie Challenge app so that anyone with a smartphone can take their first steps towards more plant-based eating.

If you want to see us in your university or know a market, please send us a WhatsApp message at 0817 939 0717 or email [email protected]!

Corporate Outreach

In Nigeria, the food sector has a crucial role to play in changing consumer behaviour and educating people about alternatives to animal-based products. Beyond food manufacturing and distribution, a growing number of food-service channels – from hotels to restaurants, eateries, and bukkas – are offering more plant-based meals on their menu and reaping the benefits!

Are you a food manufacturer, restaurant owner, or chef and would like to know more about plant-based production, cooking, and catering?

Medical Outreach

ProVeg Nigeria has an established relationship with the local medical professional community and has been working with doctors, clinics, and hospitals for several years, providing vital information about the health benefits of plant-based eating, including the reduced risks of cancer, heart disease and obesity.

ProVeg International has plenty of resources for medical professionals regarding plant-based nutrition.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, over 51% of females and 54% of males in Nigeria are under the age of 20.

Furthermore, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) highlights that 43% of the country’s population was aged between 0–14 in 2023.

These statistics underscore the critical importance of engaging with our young generation. And the best place to connect with them is where they spend most of their time: in schools.

If you would like us to come to your school and tell children, teachers, and parents about the many benefits of healthy plant-based eating, please give us a shout at [email protected]

The Africa Accelerator

The Africa Accelerator programme aims to expand the food justice movement across Africa by equipping leaders with the skills needed to become more effective advocates for animals, the environment, and public health.

Inductees will learn about the impacts of industrial farms and meat-based diets and the importance of plant-based advocacy and meat-reduction campaigns in creating a fairer and healthier food system. In addition, participants will learn how to develop effective plant-based and meat-reduction campaign strategies, as well as basic nonprofit management skills. At the end of the training, members will have developed a campaign strategy plan and be ready to launch new campaigns.

We invite you to join us on this exciting journey into the future!
