On 17 April, ProVeg China hosted the Food Innovation Challenge (FIC) Roadshow at Foodaily Expo 2026—one of China’s leading trade fairs for food and beverage innovation.

Nine finalist teams were invited to present their project concepts on stage, following opening remarks from partner companies including OATLY, Fushine, and STARFIELD. The session brought together students, researchers, and industry representatives, creating a focused setting for exchange around emerging directions in sustainable food.

For participating teams, the Roadshow offered an opportunity to test early-stage ideas against feedback from industry experts, while gaining first-hand exposure to market dynamics and application scenarios. For industry partners, the event provided a direct view into how student-led innovation is evolving, and how academic research can better align with real-world needs.

As part of the Food Innovation Challenge, the Roadshow serves as a practical step in strengthening the link between academia and industry. By creating structured opportunities for interaction, ProVeg China aims to support more efficient knowledge transfer and talent development within the sustainable food sector.

The Roadshow marks an important milestone in the 6th edition of the Food Innovation Challenge, as participating teams continue to refine their concepts ahead of the final stage.
