We are also working at a strategic level, advocating to accelerate the shift to a better food system. We are driving systemic change so that delicious, healthy, and sustainable food becomes the accessible choice for everyone, everywhere.

You play a vital role

Our School Plates programme has helped switch 60 million meals to plant-based.

With increased funding, we can:

  • Reach 100 million plant-rich meal swaps by 2026
  • Work with even more catering partners, schools, and community settings
  • Tackle food inequality. Focus our work in high-deprivation areas where children face the greatest health inequalities – plant-rich food should be accessible to all
  • Drive forward the Hospital Plates programme, training NHS chefs, pioneering new recipes, and helping caterers adopt evidence-backed practices in healthcare settings
  • Champion UK-grown veg and pulses and drive demand across the public sector
  • Create more curriculum-linked resources for classrooms and communities
  • Strengthen policy and advocacy so that healthy, sustainable, plant-rich food becomes the norm across the public sector

By supporting our programmes, you help drive meaningful change and bridge the gap for underserved communities

Large donations

Whether you are a grant-making organisation, a visionary donor, or a business leader who wants the best for your employees, customers, and their families, your support will accelerate the transition to a more sustainable food system.

At ProVeg UK, we are pragmatic and results-focused. Rather than just talking about change, we partner with like-minded trusts, foundations, and businesses to deliver it. At the core of our success is a simple truth: collaboration scales impact. These partnerships are the reason our goals become achievements, providing the essential philanthropic income that drives our mission forward and fuels our global programmes.

By working with us, you help create a world where plant-rich food is the first choice, not the alternative. Throughout this journey, our support will be tailored to your needs, ensuring your philanthropy aligns perfectly with your personal values and your vision for the future.

  • £10,000 could develop new, innovative resources for schools and hospitals.
  • £25,000 could extend our policy influence in the UK, shifting the political needle towards a more secure and just food system.
  • £50,000 could invest in our School Plates Programme, helping it to reach underserved areas and transform school food for tens of thousands more children.
  • £100,000+ will help to future-proof our programmes, enabling us to continue transforming our food system, ensuring a kinder and more nourishing future for everyone.

Grants enable us to plan ahead, retain expert staff, test new ideas, and offer our services free of charge to schools and hospitals that otherwise may not have the means to access them.

We work closely with you to:

  • Tailor proposals for your specific needs
  • Create budgets that fit with yours
  • Present transparent impact reporting (meals switched, carbon savings, health outcomes, animal-welfare indicators)

We use every pound strategically to deliver on our commitment to 100 million meal swaps, ensuring your support creates systemic and lasting change at scale.

Our work in action

Thanks to two years of support from a donor, ProVeg successfully designed, built, and launched the Canteen to Classroom programme

This crucial funding allowed us to establish a dedicated programme team, develop high-quality educational resources, and forge partnerships with schools across the UK.

The programme is already creating a lasting impact, currently reaching schools representing over 90,000 pupils, and continues to expand well beyond the initial funding period.

Engaging the UK’s largest caterers

With a large donation, ProVeg was able to significantly scale the impact of the School Plates programme.

This funding enabled us to recruit and retain key programme leadership and delivery roles, ensuring high-quality implementation while expanding our strategic engagement with major contract caterers across the UK.

Through this work, School Plates supported the shift of an additional 25.6 million school meals from meat-based to plant-based options in 2025 alone, contributing to over 73 million meals transitioned since the programme began.

Beyond direct meal impact, our donors’ support helped establish the School Plates Contract Caterer Ranking as a national driver of change, engaging some of the UK’s largest catering providers and influencing the food served to hundreds of thousands of children each day.

Today, the programme is not only delivering measurable impact in schools, but is also shaping industry standards, influencing policy, and building scalable tools, such as e-learning resources to accelerate future growth – creating lasting change well beyond the initial funding period.

Pioneering better quality food

When a leading global enterprise partnered with ProVeg UK, the goal was to use the power of nutrition to transform lives by integrating plant-based education into both their corporate culture and their local community.

The collaboration began at the heart of the organisation, focusing on the wellbeing of its employees. Through interactive workshops, led by our expert chefs, and evidence-based sessions with nutritionists, staff gained practical skills to improve their daily energy levels and long-term health. This culture of wellness even reached the boardroom; after experiencing the quality of ProVeg-recommended meals, the company’s leadership committed to serving healthier, more sustainable menu options at all senior meetings.

Beyond the office walls, the partnership extended its reach to the local community, specifically focusing on school nutrition. Over the course of a single year, funding from the partnership provided 98,700 school children with access to nutrient-rich, plant-based meal options through menu innovation. These changes introduced children to diverse flavours and sustainable habits, which can influence their choices at home.

The impact of this partnership is grounded in measurable results. By supporting ProVeg UK’s work with school caterers (including expert training and menu consultations) the initiative achieved significant environmental and financial milestones:

  • Participating schools saw an average 26% reduction in their carbon footprint.
  • A 20% reduction in food costs allowed schools to reinvest savings into higher-quality ingredients.
  • The partnership supported a certification scheme that rewards catering teams for excellence, ensuring these healthy changes remain a permanent fixture in the lunchroom.

“Through this collaboration, food has become a meaningful way to support healthier lives, protect the planet, and strengthen communities.”
