Plant-Based Power: our latest Plant-Based Cooking Workshop

Last month, the School Plates team had the pleasure of joining school caterer Lunchtime Co. and seventeen of their talented London-based chefs and operations managers for a Plant-Based Cooking in Schools Workshop.

It was a fantastic day filled with inspiring conversations about the future of school food and how plant-based options can nourish both pupils and the planet. The catering team cooked up eight vibrant, plant-based recipes – sides, mains, and desserts.  As everyone came together to enjoy the food they had cooked, we chatted about how the experience had shifted their perception of plant-based meals. Thank you to Lunchtime Co. for such a wonderful day!

We were incredibly impressed with the presentation skills from the team, alongside the delicious dishes prepared from our recipes. This is what school food could look like! How delicious?

We had some great feedack from one of the Lunchtime.Co chef managers, “So this morning, I probably would have said it was going to be a waste of time for the school I work in. But after everything we’ve done—and after tasting the food—I’ve realised that with a few changes, like blending things down or adding a bit more flavour, it’s a thumbs up from me. I’ll be doing everything I can to get my kids to eat it.”
