Belgian non-profit EVA becomes ProVeg Belgium

We are excited to announce that the Belgian non-profit EVA has joined ProVeg and become ProVeg Belgium. Over the past 22 years, the Belgian team has already had a considerable impact and put plant-based eating firmly on the map in Belgium.

Time for Change

For more than two decades, EVA has raised awareness about the benefits of plant-based eating, with campaigns such as ‘Thursday is Veggie Day’ and the Veggie Challenge, which encourage people to try out plant-based diets. Then, 22 years after the organization was founded, it became time for a change. EVA decided to join forces and share its expertise with ProVeg International and become ProVeg Belgium. It is the ninth country in the ProVeg fold, joining offices already established in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Czechia, Spain, the United Kingdom, South Africa, the United States, and China.

A match made in heaven

EVA’s vision has always been very similar to ProVeg’s: a world where everyone chooses delicious and healthy food that is good for all humans, animals, and our planet. So joining ProVeg International as ProVeg Belgium was a no-brainer. From now on, they will support ProVeg’s mission of reducing the global consumption of animals by 50% by 2040 with their work and their campaigns.

Since ProVeg International’s foundingin 2017, there has always been close contact between the two organizations. EVA has previously collaborated with ProVeg in several campaigns, including the Veggie Challenge and the successful petition to stop plant-based dairy censorship. Becoming ProVeg was thus the next a logical step.

We are delighted to welcome EVA as ProVeg Belgium. With the additional support of the international team, the work of the team in Belgium will now have even more impact.

Welcome ProVeg Belgium

Until now, EVA has been mainly active in Flanders and Brussels. As ProVeg Belgium, they will be able to expand their work to the rest of the country, which also means expanding their French-speaking activities, something that EVA has wanted to do for a long time. By joining an international organization, they will be able to exchange experiences and expertise with colleagues from all over the world. We are happy to have them on board!
