Open letter to the European Commission on the review of EU promotion of agricultural products

ProVeg International has joined a group of civil society organisations in writing an open letter to the European Commission’s Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency (CHAFEA), supporting the agency’s review of the EU promotion programme for agricultural products. The review is being conducted ” with a view to enhancing (the EU’s) contribution to sustainable production and consumption,” and bring that contribution in line with the evolving diets of EU citizens.

ProVeg International Vice-President, Jasmijn de Boo, signed the letter along with representatives of Humane Society International, Eurogroup for Animals, Compassion in World Farming, and EVA.

Open Letter to CHAFEA

“We concur with your view that promotion policy can make an important contribution to the implementation of the farm to fork strategy by supporting consistent and positive messaging about healthy and sustainable food and enabling citizens to make the right choices.”
