Meet the Incubator startups: Mindful FÜD

…

Mindful FÜD creates plant-based honey from rescued Canadian apples, offering a sustainable, bee-friendly, and deliciously versatile sweetener. Their honey alternative reduces food waste, protects pollinators, and is certified organic, vegan, and free from the most common allergens.

Mindful FÜD: Using rescued apples is at the very core of our mission. These are perfectly edible fruits that would otherwise go to waste due to surplus or cosmetic imperfections – we always say ‘they just didn’t win the retail beauty pageant!’. By upcycling them, we not only reduce food waste but also support local farmers. On the flavor side, apples provide a subtle, fruity backbone that’s bright, balanced, and incredibly approachable. They allow us to create a honey alternative that’s smooth, gently sweet, and versatile enough for everyday use, while staying rooted in sustainability.

MF: Oh, where to start! BeeMindful Hunnie is certified organic, allergen-free, bee-free – and it works as a 1:1 replacement for bee honey, agave, or maple syrup. But here’s the kicker: it’s more cost-effective than all three. It also won’t crystallize, stays pourable at room temperature, and thickens beautifully when chilled. So, whether you’re baking, drizzling, dressing, marinating, or mixing up a cocktail, it performs like a dream. And because it’s safe for schools and inclusive of most dietary needs, it checks all the boxes for today’s conscious consumer.

MF: I hope Mindful FÜD helps reshape how we think about ingredients, sustainability, and innovation in food. Our goal is to make sustainable, plant-based choices the norm – not the exception – by showing that thoughtful, planet-friendly products can also be incredibly delicious, beautifully made, and widely accessible. If we can shift the narrative around food waste and bee health while bringing something joyful to people’s plates, then we’re doing more than making great products – we’re building momentum towards a better food future.
