COP29 workshop: Transforming food systems to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030

The FAO, ProVeg, WWF and CGIAR to discuss how to stop forest destruction

Food awareness organization, ProVeg International, will be hosting a workshop at COP29 on Friday, 15 November to discuss how to stop and reverse deforestation. The workshop will take place from 10am to 1pm (Baku, Azerbaijan time).

ProVeg will be joined by representatives from the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), WWF and research network CGIAR for the workshop which takes place in the Action on Food Hub Pavilion in the Blue Zone of the COP29 summit.

Specifically, the workshop will seek to identify the barriers and challenges to elevating deforestation and food systems to the top of the implementation agenda in the run-up to COP30 in Brazil.

Participants will work together to identify key asks and how to present them to relevant stakeholders in order to promote food systems transformation as the primary lever to end deforestation by 2030.
