Eight innovative food-tech startups join the latest ProVeg Incubator cohort as we celebrate its fifth birthday
The ProVeg Incubator has had a whirlwind past quarter, with heaps of exciting activity. In September, eight exciting new food-tech startups joined Cohort 11. Hailing from around the world and spanning a wide range of products, technologies, and solutions, the cohort includes startups from Argentina, Spain, Bulgaria, Singapore, the United States, and, for the first time, Brazil.
In October, the ProVeg Incubator held its annual Alumni Meetup at alumni Formo’s spectacular HQ in Berlin. Packed with our thriving alumni’s latest product launches, the meetup brought together startups, mentors, partners, and friends from all over the world.
Overall, 2023 has been an extremely successful year for the ProVeg Incubator, with 20 startups onboarded this year. Since launching in 2018, we have helped a total of 107 startups, with many of our alumni achieving great heights in the plant-based sector, including Formo, Omni and Kern Tec.
We are very proud of ProVeg Incubator’s progress in the last five years and we look forward to another year of plant-based innovation – thanks to your kind support!
Calling all future visionaries: ProVeg Asia cultivates young minds for a future in sustainable protein
ProVeg Asia is thrilled to launch the Food Innovation Challenge, now in its fourth year! The Challenge has continued to expand to many top universities across the Asia Pacific region, offering students the opportunity to gain valuable insights while channelling their creativity and skills in the plant-based space. More than 1,000 students from 260 universities in 23 countries submitted proposals, with many coming from prominent universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanyang Technological University, and the National University of Singapore.
Inspired by the Food Innovation Challenge, ProVeg Asia also launched the Young Professionals in Sustainable Protein programme, connecting driven young people with some of the region’s leading plant-based and cultivated-food startups, including Meta Meat, Jimi, and CellX, which will tutor these emerging talents in the field of sustainable protein.
In addition, ProVeg Asia was announced the winner in the Decarbonisation Leader category for the 2023 Sustainable Business Awards. The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China presented the award to ProVeg at their conference, ‘Embracing the Critical Transition and Measuring Unexpected Impacts’, which focused on corporate sustainable development.
