ProVeg Incubator: Celebrating more than 100 Startups and welcoming our 12th cohort
ProVeg Incubator, the world’s first and leading accelerator for plant-based, fermentation-derived, and cultivated-food startups, has supported over 100 alt-protein and plant-based startups in its first five years. Now that’s worth celebrating!
Since the program kicked off in November 2018, the Incubator has helped more than 100 startups to transform the global food system while also navigating the constantly evolving food-tech landscape. To mark this significant milestone, the Incubator has just released a new publication, Five Years, 100 Startups, and the Future of Food, which takes a look at what’s been achieved so far, as well as highlighting industry trends such as the alignment of food tech with climate tech, advancements in plant-based products, and emerging markets in the APAC region. Despite the recent recalibrations that the industry has undergone, ProVeg predicts a resilient future for the sector, with an increase in investments and expanding market opportunities. You can download the report here.
Moving into the future, the Incubator’s revamped program recently inaugurated its 12th cohort, featuring five exciting startups, such as the Atlantic Fish Co., which is developing the world’s first cultivated black sea bass, and AlProtein, which uses microalgae and water lentils to produce protein ingredients for plant-based manufacturers. The revised program has been extended from three to five months, beginning with a kick-off week in Berlin featuring a wealth of in-person workshops and industry events. Follow the journey of these promising young companies over the next five months – and beyond!
