Vegan Pesto
Pesto is a sauce which originally comes from the Italian city of Genoa. Traditionally, it is made from fresh basil leaves and Parmesan cheese. This vegan pesto tastes just as good as the traditional variety and is very easy to make. We suggest using nutritional yeast to replace the cheese, thanks to its cheese-like flavor. The basil, pine nuts, and garlic add a true taste of Italy.
Vegan pesto is a perfect side dish
There are thousands of meals you can make with pesto. The easiest is perhaps a simple pasta dish. Even in Ancient Rome, the Romans were already eating pesto with their pasta. Pesto is also delicious on a sandwich or in a salad. Explore the different ways of using pesto to find out which recipe you like best.
You can also make pesto with walnuts instead of pine nuts.
