Chocolate oats with banana, peanut butter and peanuts

This hearty porridge tastes almost as if you are eating a brownie for breakfast. Fortunately this breakfast is a good deal more nutritious, with no added sugars! Oats are rich in various B vitamins and important minerals.

Ingredients

Servings: 2
  • 500 ml
    soy milk or other plant-based milk
  • 100 g
    oats
  • 2
    bananas ripe
  • 3 tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp
    peanut butter
  • 1 handful
    peanuts roughly chopped

Instructions

  1. Bring the plant-based milk to the boil and add the oats. Let it simmer gently for about 5 minutes.

  2. Mash the banana finely and add to the oats. Set aside some banana and cut it into slices to decorate the oats with if desired.

  3. After a few minutes you add cocoa powder and vanilla. Stir well.

  4. When the oats have a mushy consistency, take them off the heat source. Taste and sweeten it a little more with some sugar, or (agave) syrup if desired.

  5. Distribute the oats among the bowls and decorate these with the remaining slices of banana, a large spoonful of peanut butter and the chopped peanuts
